Feelings can be really tricky to understand and especially for children to self regulate.
Naming and identifying feelings is the first step. What they look like and how they feel. Where are they feeling it in their body. These steps help us as parents, caregivers and educators in supporting children to move through their feelings and be able to regulate themselves more easily. Sitting with children and reading this photographic story at many different times starting with a cuddle time, may support you and your child to be there for each other in the moment they need you.
The feelings book is available in both English & has been translated into Karen (Burmese) by a wonderful colleague I worked with in Yennora, NSW. Our Spanish translation will be available soon.
This edition of the feelings book is designed and written for children of all ages and uses delightful photos to enhance the appeal to read the story. Young children identify more readily with images and process them more easily than text and illustrations.
N.B. Toy not included, however you may like to look at our Feelings Bag, a sensory sack filled with toys that they can feel, touch, squeeze and play with while they process their feelings through their senses.
